MCAS Iwakuni is a mission-ready air station, capable of providing continuous base-operating support for tenant organizations and follow-on U.S. and allied forces during training, combat or contingency (HA/DR) operations throughout the Indo-Asia Pacific region.

A Japanese participant of the 2014 Kintai Marathon, which took place aboard Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, Japan, runs barefoot toward the half-marathon finish line, April 13. The Kintai Marathon is one of the few annual events that give Japanese citizens an opportunity to come aboard station. Approximately 800 people signed up for the full marathon, half marathon and five-kilometer walk.

MARINE CORPS AIR STATION IWAKUNI, Japan - A Japanese participant of the 2014 Kintai Marathon, which took place aboard Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, Japan, runs barefoot toward the half-marathon finish line, April 13. The Kintai Marathon is one of the few annual events that give Japanese citizens an opportunity to come aboard station.
