MCAS Iwakuni is a mission-ready air station, capable of providing continuous base-operating support for tenant organizations and follow-on U.S. and allied forces during training, combat or contingency (HA/DR) operations throughout the Indo-Asia Pacific region.

Representatives from South Korea and Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, Japan, take the stage to receive their awards from the Japan Good Deeds Association during their 65th Spring Commendation Ceremony at the Meiji Jingu Gathering Hall in Tokyo, Japan, May 23, 2015. The Good Deeds Association is an organization that recognizes people or groups for they’re good conduct in support of the Japanese community. The association recognized service members with Headquarters and Headquarters Squadron and Marine Aerial Transport Refueler Squadron 152 aboard MCAS Iwakuni for their assistance with the Iwakuni City Volunteer Council in August 2014, after a mudslide caused by heavy rain.
