Iwakuni Japanese Language Course Fall Semester 2014
7 - 9 p.m., every Tuesday, at Iwakuni Shimin Kaikan (Civic Hall) Training Room (Map is available at PAO). To take the class smoothly, come visit to sign up in advance at Public Affairs Office (POC: Ms. Kawamoto @253-5551) and obtain a numbered ticket. Only 40 seats are available, first comes first served basis. 1,000 yen per term is charged for enrollment. Once enrolled, students are expected to attend as many of the lessons as possible. Okayama Sake Festival 2014 in Nishikawa
At the Shimoishii Park, Kita-ku, Okayama City. 5 to 9 p.m. on Sept. 19, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sept. 20, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sept. 21.
The advanced ticket is 3,200 yen and the ticket on the day is 3,800 yen (both tickets are with 20 tickets for sake tasting). For more information, check the facebook at

October 4 and 5

The 9th Okayama Ramen Expo 2014
10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Convex Okayama, Okayama City.
Ticket for one bowl of ramen is 600 yen (advanced ticket), or 700 yen (ticket of the day). Famous ramen restaurants will gather here not only from Okayama Pref., but also from all over Japan.

You Yu Festa
1 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Oct. 4 and 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Oct. 5, at Minato Oasis Yu, Yu town, Iwakuni City.
October 4 is the festival eve with the stage performances and fireworks. October 5 is stage performance included but are not limited to; junior high school brass bad, Kagura, Taiko drum, flea market, etc.

Navy Gourmet Festa in Kure
10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Yamato dock, Kure City, Hiroshima Prefecture.
Kure City is known as Navy town. Yokosuka City (Kanagawa Pref.), Maizuru City (Kyoto Pref.) , and Sasebo City (Nagasaki Pref.) , which are also famous as the old Navy town, will gather at Kure City to hold the Navy Gourmet Festival.

The 2nd Annual Yuda Hot springs Sake Festival
11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Inoue Park, Yuda Hot springs, Yamaguchi City. 
Tickets are 1,500 yen. The ticket will be exchanged with sake tasting tickets with a sake cup.  You can taste sake from sake breweries in Yamaguchi Prefecture with the cup and tickets. Food will also be sold.

Tottori Burger Festival
10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Hakuro-za, Daisen, Tottori Pref.
The local burgers from Tottori Pref. and all over Japan will gather at this event. You vote for your favorite burger and at the end of event, the most popular burger in Japan will be determined.

The 10th Annual Hiroshima Food Festival
10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Hiroshima Castle and neighboring area, a part of Hiroshima Central Park.
The theme is “local production for local consumption.” You can enjoy the fruits of the sea and mountains at Hiroshima. Approximately 400 food booths and Japanese traditional performances will be held.
