Rules : Transient Lodging

The following information is provided to assist in making your stay at Iwakuni enjoyable.

Visitation
To ensure maximum safety, privacy and security in all transient facilities, entry is limited to the occupants of the particular facility, guests of occupants of the facility when escorted by the occupant, and personnel on official business (maintenance workers and housekeepers, for instance). Only registered guests will remain in the transient facilities overnight.
Alcohol
In accordance with the MCBJ/IIIMEFO 1050.7, the minimum alcohol possession and consumption age for U.S. military service members assigned to MCBJ/III MEF while in the country of Japan, and for all military and civilian personnel located on any MCBJ installation, is 20 years of age. E-3 and below may possess not more than six (6) 12-oz. beers/wine coolers/malt liquor beverages or one (1) bottle of wine per occupant of legal age. Hard liquor, as defined within the order, is any beverage with an alcohol content of 10% or higher (20 proof or higher). This includes wines which have an alcohol content of more than 10% (more than 20 proof) because they are considered “hard liquor” rather than “wine”. E-3 and below are not authorized to purchase, possess, or consume hard liquor regardless of age, and are not authorized to possess or consume any hard liquor in the barracks. This includes E-3’s and below who are on TAD/Leave. E-5 and E-4 may possess one (1) 750-ml of hard liquor or twelve (12) beers/wine coolers/malt liquor or two (2) bottles of wine per NCO occupant of legal age. Hard alcohol will be locked up at all times when not being consumed. It is the responsibility of the occupant to ensure that no person engages in unauthorized underage consumption of alcohol within the confines of this room.
Bicycle
Bicycles are not permitted inside the facilities. Bicycle racks are provided at all facilities. It is the resident's responsibility to ensure the security of bicycles.
Noise
Courtesy and common sense rule on this issue. Loud noise (that which can be heard outside of a room with the door closed) is prohibited. Management or other occupants may ask offenders to respect the noise control standards. Your cooperation is expected. Observe quiet hours.
Gambling
Gambling is not permitted in the transient facilities.
Pets
Pets are not allowed in transient facilities. Pets include those in aquariums, terrariums, or cages. Pets are not permitted on the grounds or parking areas. A base kennel is available please call DSN: 253-4586.
Smoking
Smoking is not permitted in transient facilities or common areas. Outdoor smoking in designated smoking areas is acceptable.
Firearms
Firearms, explosives, ammunition, pyrotechnics, and weapons are not allowed in any transient facilities.
Energy
Guests are asked to make every effort to conserve resources. Please turn off the lights and television when leaving the room.
Safety
Every effort is made to ensure safe conditions in transient facilities. Tampering with, or misuse of firefighting equipment, smoke alarms, or fire alarm systems is prohibited. Fireworks, candles, incense, smoldering or odor-producing substances and open flames are prohibited. Guests are asked to promptly report concerns or possible hazards to the front desk at DSN: 253-3181.
Trash
Trash receptacles in and around the transient facilities are for household trash only. Hazardous waste (paint and paint cans, for instance) disposal is prohibited.
Cooking
Cooking is only allowed in the rooms where there are kitchen facilities. Food preparation in rooms without kitchens is limited to that which can be safely heated in a microwave. All rooms are provided with coffee makers. Normal care and caution should be exercised when using kitchen appliances. It is the responsibility of each guest to clean dinnerware.
PERSONAL SUPPORT EQUIPMENT (PSE)
Furniture, furnishings and equipment to include linens and towels will not be removed from rooms. Furniture will not be relocated or rearranged within the room. Guests will be charged for items damaged due to negligence or abuse. This includes towels and linens that are stained due to misuse.
Security
Do not leave valuables unsecured in the transient facilities. If you see suspicious people or objects around your facility, please report it immediately to the front desk at DSN: 253-3181 or 5409.

General Information
Front Desk
The front desk is located in the Kintai Inn, Building 606, and is open 24 hours a day, 7days a week. The front desk can be reached at either DSN: 253-3181/5409.
Check-in
Check-in for each guest is at the front desk of the Kintai Inn, Building 606. Identification and orders, if applicable, must be provided to the desk clerk before any room assignments will be made. Check-in time is 4 p.m.; however, guests will be permitted to check in early if the room is available.
Check-out
Check-out is located at the front desk of the Kintai Inn, Building 606. Check out time is 12:00 noon.
Late Check-out
Requests for a late check-out must be submitted to the front desk in advance. Late check-outs will be considered on a case-by-case basis and approved when there is no negative impact on reservations or room availability. There will be a late check-out charge.
Room Charges
Current room charges are posted at the front desk or can be obtained by calling the front at DSN: 253-3181. Room charges are based on the type of room available.
Payment
Credit cards (Visa, MasterCard and American Express), traveler's checks, postal money orders, personal checks and cash are accepted for payment. There is a service charge for all returned checks. The service charge will be in accordance with the current MCCS returned check policy.
Comments
Many improvements have been initiated based on guest comments and suggestions. Please utilize the customer comment card found in your room or go to ice.disa.mil.
Space Available
All guests who are neither TAD nor traveling as guests of the US Armed Forces will be housed on a space-available basis. A maximum 30-day lodging limitation is imposed per MCO P11000.22; however, extensions may be granted in extenuating circumstances by the commanding Officer, MCAS Iwakuni.
