Event at Iwakuni City Hall commemorates disaster relief efforts

Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, Japan - A Japanese local gives a speech during a ceremony in Iwakuni City, Japan, April 23, 2018. The event showcased a photo display with approximately 300 photo panels depicting disaster restoration efforts. Speeches were given by Japanese leaders and a concert was held in commemoration of the relief and restoration efforts during the Kyushu northern torrential rain, the Kumamoto earthquake and the Hiroshima torrential rain disasters. The event recognized the Japan Self-Defense Force, police departments, fire departments, volunteers and U.S. Forces Japan personnel for their efforts. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Lance Cpl.
