Secretary of the Navy, Carlos Del Toro visits Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni

MARINE CORPS AIR STATION IWAKUNI, Japan - The Secretary of the Navy, Carlos Del Toro, arrives at Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni and is greeted by a junior-enlisted U.S. Marine alongside U.S. Marine Corps Maj. Gen. Brian Cavanaugh, commanding general of 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, and MCAS Iwakuni commanding officer Col. Lance Lewis, Japan, Oct. 26 2021. The visit highlighted the capabilities of the air station and its mission in support of the U.S.-Japan alliance. The Secretary was escorted around the installation by MCAS Iwakuni leadership where he observed U.S. Marines and sailors working alongside soldiers from the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force during the air station’s annual base defense exercise.
