Shunan International Children's Club hosts martial arts performance

MARINE CORPS AIR STATION IWAKUNI, Japan - A member of the Kendo Federation from Shunan city demonstrates a unique form of martial arts called “laido” at Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, Japan, July 18, 2022. MCAS Iwakuni youth had the opportunity to practice the ancient Japanese martial arts form while also learning about different forms of concentration and the importance of being courteous and showing respect to others. These events hosted by the Shunan International Children’s Club are important as they introduce U.S. citizens to Japanese customs and culture, as well as reinforce the relationship between the U.S. and the Japanese Locals.
