MARINE CORPS AIR STATION IWAKUNI, Japan -- As part of the Defense Commissary Agency's ongoing initiative to better serve its customers, they have redesigned their webpage to make it more user friendly.
The upgrades to the site will allow customers of the Station Commissary to better find product prices and product specials. As far as service members coming to Iwakuni, they can now get a picture of what the Commissary has to offer before they get here.
"About 15 percent of our customers check out our prices by using the website," said Robert Peck, Station Commissary director. "Customers can even contact the store through e-mail to find out about specific products we may or may not offer."
Visitors to the site can find out what is on sale at their store by accessing the website.
In the future, Iwakuni's Commissary also plans to provide customers with a floor plan of the store on the webpage. When installed, this option will let customers see where the items they need are located in the store.
In addition to food, Iwakuni residents can find information on the Commissary Bagger for a Day program, which helps different organizations raise money, Peck noted.
The website also contains up-to-date DeCA customer news and Scholarships for Military Children information. There are also links to sites pertaining to Commissary sales information, newsletters and recipes.
"Commissaries.com has become very popular with our customers," said Rick Brink, Web program manager. "It continues to evolve and improve. It also increases our ability to make service members more aware of what the Commissary offers."
The store pages are the most visited areas of the website. These can be found on the sites' home page using the location buttons.
