See more of Japan with ITT

4 Aug 2003 | Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, Japan

Station residents who wish to pioneer Japan?s foreign land need to go no further than Information, Tours and Travel.

ITT offers affordable prices on trips that span all over Japan. Whether single or accompanied with five little ones running about, ITT has something for everyone.

"At ITT we try to make living in Japan a little more fun and comfortable for the service members and their families," said Hisayo Misho, ITT manager. "We know this may be the first time for many living in Japan and that it's a far distance from home. By seeing and experiencing everything Japan has to offer, their  stay here will be all the more pleasant."

The ITT office, located in the Travel Center at the Crossroads Mall, not only offers trips, but information regarding tickets to events, directions and brochures. ITT will also assist in making hotel and campground arrangements for a $2 charge.

"The language barrier is a big factor for many people while they are in Japan, and that's where we come in. We help with translations and maps while also explaining the historical aspect of some of the places traveled," said Misho.

Although Tokyo and Fukuoka are the most popular places traveled among residents here, ITT tries to offer events that appeal to everyone.

"ITT is always here to answer questions. We are a great source for information on traveling outside the gates. All you have to do is come in," said Misho.

ITT is open Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The office is closed on Sundays and U.S. holidays. For more information call 253-4377.
