T-Pain performed at the Sakura Theater aboard Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, Japan, April 9, 2015.

Not only is T-Pain an American singer, song-writer, rapper, record producer and actor, but he is the founder of Nappy Boy Entertainment, established in 2005 and he is well-known for using an auto-tune voice correction in his songs.

T-Pain chose to make military installations part of his tour saying he not only came to provide entertainment to the troops, but also to show his appreciation for the military.

“I always tell people that I know a lot of artist that always say they’re on top, they’re number one and so on, but it rarely gets mentioned that if we didn’t have the freedom that we do, we wouldn’t have the privilege to be where we are,” said T-Pain.

T-Pain came to Iwakuni from Okinawa and plans to perform at U.S. Fleet Activities Sasebo next through his tour which is sponsored by Navy Entertainment and coordinated by Marine Corps Community Service.

Navy Entertainment partners with United Services Organization and Armed Forces Entertainment to bring professional athletes, musicians and comedians to service members stationed overseas.

“The concert was even better than I expected it to be. I had a great time,” said Cpl. Nakal Chadwick, an attendee of the event showcase. “Being stationed in Japan, we miss a lot of things from back home, so it’s nice to have artist that we know and love come here and make us feel at home. I would love to see more people come, it gives us something fun to do.”

This is T-Pain’s second tour visiting military installations and says he plans to do more.

T-Pain said he loves what he does as an entertainer and wanted to show support for the military members who make that possible.
