MARINE CORPS AIR STATION IWAKUNI, Japan -- Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni is honored to invite you to share the goodwill of the holiday season. The 2017 Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony will be held here on Saturday, Dec. 2 at 5 p.m.  The ceremony will mark the beginning of the holiday season and is an American custom. The event starts with our Chaplain’s Holiday prayer at 1700.  M.C. Elementary, Middle and High school music classes’ provide performances.   Santa will then make his appearance, which will be followed by the event highlight – Christmas Tree Lighting.   Free cookies, apple cider, and hot chocolate will be available, welcoming U.S. service members, their families and Japanese guests.
