Within the last 24 hours, thirteen (13) individuals at MCAS Iwakuni have tested positive for COVID-19.

Four (4) individuals tested positive following restriction of movement exit testing. Nine (9) individuals tested positive as part of a large-scale testing initiative following the previous identification of positive cases. These individuals have been in a restriction of movement period since being identified as close contacts.

MCAS Iwakuni is conducting aggressive contact tracing and will contact, quarantine, and test all close contacts. Testing of close contacts may result in the identification of additional positive cases.

On-base medical authorities continue to work closely with off-base health authorities concerning relevant contact trace findings.

All individuals who receive positive tests results will remain in isolation status until classified as recovered in accordance with Navy Bureau of Medicine and Surgery guidance.
