Within the last 24 hours, one (1) individual at MCAS Iwakuni has tested positive for COVID-19.

This individual tested positive as part of a large-scale testing initiative for those in proximity to previously identified positive cases. This individual has been in a restriction of movement period since being identified as a close contact.

MCAS Iwakuni continues to conduct aggressive contact tracing and will contact, quarantine, and test all close contacts. Testing of close contacts may result in the identification of additional positive cases.

On-base medical authorities continue to work closely with off-base health authorities concerning relevant contact trace findings.

All individuals who receive positive tests results will remain in isolation status until classified as recovered in accordance with Navy Bureau of Medicine and Surgery guidance.
