Within the last 24 hours, three (3) individuals at MCAS Iwakuni have tested positive for COVID-19.

One individual was tested due to their proximity to a previously identified positive case. This individual has been in a restriction of movement status since being identified as a close contact. Two individuals tested positive but were not in a restriction of movement status.

MCAS Iwakuni continues to conduct aggressive contact tracing and will contact, quarantine, and test all close contacts. Testing of close contacts may result in the identification of additional positive cases.

On-base medical authorities continue to work closely with off-base health authorities concerning relevant contact trace findings.

All individuals who receive positive tests results will remain in isolation status until classified as recovered in accordance with Navy Bureau of Medicine and Surgery guidance.
