Within the last 24 hours, eighty (80) individuals at MCAS Iwakuni have tested positive for COVID-19. 
 
Upon detection of any positive case, MCAS Iwakuni conducts aggressive contact tracing and will contact, test, and appropriately quarantine all close contacts. Testing of close contacts may result in the identification of additional positive cases.
 
All individuals who receive positive tests results will remain in isolation status until classified as recovered in accordance with Navy Bureau of Medicine and Surgery guidance.

The safety of our service members, civilians, families and the local community is of the utmost importance to us, and we are taking the necessary precautions to prevent the further spread of COVID-19. We will continuously update our policies and procedures as the situation warrants.
