MARINE CORPS AIR STATION IWAKUNI, Japan -- Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni will host a media opportunity to showcase the bilateral training of the MCAS Iwakuni Fire Department with the Iwakuni City Fire Department on Tuesday, Feb. 13.
As part of our routine training, the air station will showcase a rescue drill at the Nishiki river utilizing a recently acquired tool called EMILY.
EMILY is a remote control lifesaving robot, and is a highly capable lifeguard tool that can help bolster our water rescue team’s capabilities during emergency situations.
This training is designed to share the updated U.S. life-saving techniques with the city’s fire department to improve our emergency response capabilities together and to deepen our professional ties.
No prior registration is required for this off-base media opportunity. Interested media representatives should meet with MCAS Iwakuni COMMSTRAT team at the site at approximately 09:50 a.m.
