MARINE CORPS AIR STATION IWAKUNI, Japan -- Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni will host a media opportunity on base during an event in which the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the U.S. Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) Pacific will bring local Japanese students and DoDEA students together. This is a part of a youth exchange program titled Student Educational Exchange and Dialogue (SEED), a project held at DoDEA schools on U.S. military installations in Japan, launched in 2020.
During a two-day event to be held aboard Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni Sept. 7-8, American and Japanese middle and high school students will take part in hands-on activities designed to foster diverse perspectives, promote mutual understanding, bridge language barriers, and build problem-solving skills. Some of these events will be open to the press.
