MARINE CORPS AIR STATION IWAKUNI, Japan -- The Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force Fleet Air Wing 31 and Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni are pleased to announce that our joint open-house, Friendship Day, will take place on Sunday, May 4, 2025. This upcoming year marks the 46th iteration and offers an exciting, fun-filled event, which will consist of both static displays and aerial performances.
Additionally, like last year, we will also offer an Inclusive Day on May 3, 2025 for guests with special needs to allow them an opportunity to experience the air show in a less crowded venue.
As members of the greater Iwakuni community, it is our pleasure to open our gates, in concert with Fleet Air Wing 31, to the people of Japan to share our two cultures, thank the citizens for the continued support of the air station, and demonstrate the strength of the U.S. – Japan Alliance. Friendship Day promises to be an entertaining and enriching event for all involved.
Planning and coordination for both Inclusive Day and Friendship Day are ongoing and additional details will be made available as they are solidified. Until then, we request that the media withhold all queries seeking additional information about the event.
