MARINE CORPS AIR STATION IWAKUNI, Japan -- Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni will host a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Day aboard the installation on Thursday, March 20, 2025. Focused towards school-age children, STEM education provides students with an opportunity to generate interest and curiosity in the fields of STEM, which helps to earn the knowledge and skills to solve problems, gather and evaluate evidence, and make sense of information. Example exhibits uniquely available on base include but not limited to; water filtration, military working dogs, construction equipment, firefighting, weather forecasting, robotics, aviation logistics, and the thrilling world of aviation and mechanical activities.
As part of the greater community of Iwakuni, the air station takes pleasure in opening this educational opportunity to local community members on this Japanese holiday. The target participants are elementary, junior high and high school students. Pre-registration is required for base access. Registration will close Mar. 6.
