MARINE CORPS AIR STATION IWAKUNI, Japan -- Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni is honored to invite media representatives to cover the rededication of the Zero Hangar scheduled aboard the installation following the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II. The rededication ceremony will take place at Zero Hangar at 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 11. The Zero Hangar is the only remaining hangar aboard the air station out of many former Japanese imperial hangars established by the end of World War II. The Zero Hangar is not only a historically significant structure, but also represents over 60 years of U.S.-Japan alliance. The hangar was recently renovated and restored in order to better honor and preserve its legacy.
