MARINE CORPS AIR STATION IWAKUNI, Japan -- As part of a youth exchange program titled Student Educational Exchange and Dialogue (SEED), a media opportunity will be offered during an event in which the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the U.S. Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) Pacific will bring local Japanese students and DoDEA students together.
SEED is a project held at DoDEA schools on U.S. military installations in Japan, launched in 2020.
During a two-day event to be held aboard Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni Sep. 20-21, American and Japanese middle and high school students will take part in hands-on activities designed to foster diverse perspectives, promote mutual understanding, bridge language barriers, and build problem-solving skills.
Some of these events will be open to the press.
New to this year, the bilateral participants will be getting out of school and explore the Kintai bridge together.
