Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni is hosting a press conference aboard the installation at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 18, in order to provide details about the 2014 U.S.-Japan Friendship Day.

Friendship Day committee members will discuss the day’s planned events, provide traffic tips, and field your questions.

Friendship Day 2014 will be a limited-scope version of the event, different from those events the local community of Iwakuni has seen for decades. Because of this fact, and the changes it represents, the air station respectfully and strongly requests the local press’s support in using your respective forums to help us widely publicize event information, as we are able to make it available to you, for the knowledge and benefit of one and all, especially our local community audience.

Media representatives planning to attend the press conference must　sign up by calling the MCAS Iwakuni Public Affairs Office at 0827-79-5551 not later than close of business, April 16.
