Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni takes pleasure in announcing our joint open house, JMSDF/MCAS Iwakuni Friendship Day Air Show set for Thursday, May 5, 2016.  Continuing our new tradition from last year, the annual U.S.-Japan Friendship Day, marking its 40th anniversary, will combine both the Fleet Air Wing 31 annual Base Festival and the traditional MCAS Iwakuni Friendship Day, in one exciting, fun-filled event that will include both static displays and aerial performances.

As members of the greater Iwakuni community, it continues to be our great pleasure to open our gates, in concert with JMSDF, to the gracious people of our host nation in order to share our two cultures during Japanese Golden Week.  JMSDF/MCAS Iwakuni Friendship Day 2016 Air Show, in its redesigned joint format, promises to be an exciting, culturally enriching event for all involved.
