MCAS Iwakuni remains a mission-ready air station, capable of providing continuous base-operating support for tenant organizations and follow-on U.S. and allied forces during training, combat, or contingency (HA/DR) operations throughout the Asia-Pacific region. As an integral part of the greater-Iwakuni community, our desire is to support the Alliance-driven mission-essential training requirements while extending airfield operational support for the two additional daily flights commencing this Sunday - one direct to Tokyo's Haneda Airport, and the other direct to Okinawa's Naha Airport. The continued safe and successful integration of commercial airport operations here reflects the unwavering professionalism of our MCAS-I team, the enduring strength and flexibility of our Alliance, and the strong relationship that we share with our local community.
