U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Children from the Josho Hoikuen School in Iwakuni City say goodbye to Noriko Yamada, an administrative specialist with the Marine Memorial Chapel, and service members from Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, Japan, April 19, 2016. Visiting the school provided service members the chance to teach children how to speak and count in English, fostering the friendship between the U.S. and Japan. Station residents run toward the finish line during the 8th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. 2.5k run or walk at Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, Japan, Jan. 16, 2016. The Youth and Teen Center started this event in remembrance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and to provide residents another opportunity to be active within the community. During their visit, 50 station volunteers escorted 15 orphans to a haunted house operated by Marines from Marine Wing Support Squadron 171, enjoyed bonding over dinner and trick-or-treating around the air station.
