Within the last 24 hours, eleven (11) individuals at MCAS Iwakuni have tested positive for COVID-19 following restriction of movement exit testing.

These individual arrived directly to MCAS Iwakuni via a military-coordinated flight and, in accordance with USFJ policy, immediately entered into a restriction of movement period. 

All close contacts have been appropriately identified and quarantined. The likelihood of further spread of the virus remains low due to strict adherence to restriction of movement procedures.

On-base medical authorities will continue to provide information to off-base health authorities concerning relevant contact trace findings.

All individuals who receive positive tests results will remain in isolation status until classified as recovered in accordance with Navy Bureau of Medicine and Surgery guidance.
