MARINE CORPS AIR STATION IWAKUNI, Japan -- The 47th JMSDF/MCAS Iwakuni Friendship Day is fast approaching. MCAS Iwakuni Communication Strategy and Operations (COMMSTRAT) and Japan Maritime Self Defense Force Fleet Air Wing 31 Public Relations Office will be jointly hosting media opportunities for legitimate media representatives who wish to cover Family Day and Friendship Day.
Interested media should sign up by sending an email to MCAS Iwakuni COMMSTRAT (iwakuni.commstrat@usmc.mil) by Wednesday, April 15. Please include 1. signed Media Ground Rules, 2. registration form, as well as 3. source documentation providing proof of legitimate media employment and credentials per each person. A follow-up phone call to 0827-79-5551 is absolutely encouraged to check if we received your email. There is no limit on the head count of pre-registration per each media agency who visit the event venue open to public, however we may set caps for exclusive media relations service.

For May 2 media event, the pre-registered and approved media outlets will be informed of time and location by email on a later date.
For an early bird tour, please meet us at the Monzen Gate at 4:45 a.m., May 3. All media representatives should be prepared to present a valid photo I.D. and media credentials upon entry.
If you only wish to join Friendship Day later in the day, please come directly to the media tent to check in and to receive a media badge. Media relations privileges will be provided only to media badge holders, including the most updated event information, interviews, access to show-front media area and other restricted spots for professional filming. For accountability purposes, please de-register at the media tent and turn in your badge prior to your departure from the air station.
Aforesaid coverage opportunities are exclusively for pre-registered and approved media representatives. MCAS Iwakuni COMMSTRAT reserves the right to deny media-specific access/offerings to non-legitimate media personnel.
