Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni will host President Barack Obama, 44th President of the United States. The President will speak to U.S. and Japanese uniformed services en route from the Group of Seven Summit in Ise-Shima to Hiroshima City. Three events will be open to Media:
Registered media representatives will have the option of being escorted off the base following the formal event. Cameras wishing to cover departure will need to remain on base at a hold location. For security reasons media representatives will report to the main gate of MCAS-Iwakuni by 9 AM, must bring their outlet credential, and must carry a government-issued photo-ID. Due to space constraints registration will close at 7 AM on May 26, 2016, or earlier and registration will be limited to 50 representatives. Registrations will be limited to two (one pen, one still) for print outlets and three for television outlets. Media representatives wishing to cover the events must sign up by sending the information below to the MCAS Iwakuni Public Affairs Office at iwakuni.pao@usmc.mil. Due to time and distance constraints, journalists and crews covering these events will not be able to also cover events in Hiroshima.

Additional notes: Attending media should bring food and water, facilities to purchase them are not available on site. The holding location between the troop event and departure offers minimal Wi-Fi access.
