Marines, Sailors conduct logistical support during largest U.S.-Japan bilateral, joint exercise

As part of exercise Yama Sakura 81, Marines and Sailors from MCAS Iwakuni conducted logistical support of the 38th Air Defense Artillery Brigade to test offloading and loading capabilities. Yama Sakura 81 is the largest U.S.-Japan bilateral and joint command post exercise, which enables participants to work as dedicated partners in support of the U.S.-Japan security alliance and for continued peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific. A U.S. military working dog assigned to Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni’s Provost Marshal’s Office is rewarded with a ball after detecting a simulated potential threat during a bilateral training event with the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force and the station’s PMO at MCAS Iwakuni, Japan, Dec. 21, 2021. Joint training strengthens the U.S.-Japan alliance, creating a more efficient, effective, and unified force. Ground Safety for Marines arrives at MCAS Iwakun

The two-week, Training and Education Command driven course aims to increase safety by providing Occupational Safety and Health training to military and civilian personnel assigned to full-time or collateral duties in ground safety.
